Dagadusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple

Dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the God of wealth and knowledge, Dagadusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple is visited by thousands of pilgrims form all the corners of the world. The elite 7.5 feet tall and 4 feet wide idol of Lord Ganesha adorned with 8 kilos of gold is true evidence of richness and magnificence. This temple was built by Dagadusheth Gadve in the year 1893. Trader originally from Karnataka, Dagadusheth later settled in Pune. He was a famed and wealthy sweet seller (Halwai). He was an ardent devotee of Lord Ganesha and a righteous person. Losing his son in plague epidemic dropped him and his wife in to great depression. This is when he built this temple as per the recommendation of his Guru Madhavnath Maharaja.

Located in Pune, Maharashtra, this temple is at the walking distance from the well-known historical monument Shaniwar Wada (administrative headquarter during Peshwa rule). 10-day Ganesh Mahotsav festival adds life to this temple. Situated 6500 ft on a hill, close to TV tower of Sikkim, this temple offers a panoramic view of Gangtok, Raj Bhawan and glorious Mt. Khangchendzonga. The pathway of the temple is festooned with holy flags coloured in red, white, blue, green, yellow and purple. The Kadale Kalu and Sasive Kalu Ganesha

The Kadale Kalu temple is one of the widely known shrines of Lord Ganesha in India. This temple is situated on the southern peak of Hemakuta Hill. This temple homes 15 feet tall statue of Lord Ganesha which is scooped out of an extremely large rock. This makes this statue to be one of the largest statuettes in Hampi. The belly of the Ganesha sculpture truly resembles a Bengal Gram known as Kadale Kalu in local language of Karnataka and this is how the temple got its name. This 24 pillared temple offers an attractive view. Various sculptures depicting the mythological themes are engraved on these pillars which are true example of meticulousness.

Located nearby is the Sasive Kalu Ganesha Temple, whose idol bears a resemblance to mustard seed. Sasivekalu in the local language is denoted as mustard seed and hence status has been named the same. This huge colossal Ganesha statue of nearly 8 feet holds a Modak (Ladoo) in one hand. As per the ancient writings and inscriptions this temple was built by a merchant from Chandragiri, Andhra Pradesh in the remembrance Narasimha II (king of Vijayanagara at that era).

Shree Siddhivinayak Ganpati

Shree Siddhivinayak Ganpati Mandir is one of the most beautiful temples dedicated to Lord Shri Ganesha. This five storied temple structure is an eminent proof of beauty and architecture. With gold plated inner roof and wooden doors being carved with the 8 manifestations of elephant-headed God Ganesha in Maharashtra (Ashtavinayaka) such as Moreshwar (Morgaon), Siddhivinayak (Siddhatek), Ballaleshwar (Pali), Varadavinayak (Mahad), Chintamani (Theur), Girijatmaj (Lenyadri), Vighnahar (Ozar) and Mahaganapati (Ranjangaon).

Trinetra Ganesh Temple

Trinetra Ganesh Temple is located on the palace of Ranthambore Fort nearly about 12 Kms from Sawai Madhopur. Trinetra Ganesha is also known as Pratham Ganesha because this temple holds its existence from ancient times. As per the epic tale of shrine, after the long battle between Alauddin Khilji and King Hammeer the sustenance stock at the Ranthambore Fort was gradually coming to an end. King Hammeer was known to be devout worshipper of Lord Ganesha. One night Lord Ganesha appeared in his dreams and whispered that all his troubles and sorrow will be sorted out by tomorrow morning. As a miracle, early next morning he saw that a three eyed (Trinetra) idol of Lord Ganesha was found embossed from one of the wall of his palace.

With such miraculous blessings of Lord Ganesha the war was over and his reserves also got accumulated all over again. This is when the king got a temple constructed where he placed entire family of Lord Ganesha at one place i.e. Lord Ganesha with Ridhi & Sidhi (wife) and Shubh & Labh (his two sons). Being one of the most eminent temples of Lord Ganesha, festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated here with high religious passion. Thousands of devotees visit the temple this day to offer their special prayers and seek out blessings of Lord Ganesha.
